Easy mathi peera

Sardines, loaded with the omega 3 fatty acids and other essential nutrients, enjoy a five star status in the culinary world. If you are bored of eating the regular fried sardines, here is a delicious dish in which sardines is cooked in grated coconut and spices. Check out the recipe of easy sardine peera.

Ingredients
15 small sardines
Coconut (as per the number of sardines; however the coconut shouldn€™t be more than the fish)
4 green chillies
1 small piece ginger
½ onion
1 bunch curry leaves
2 tbsp chilli powder
½ tbsp turmeric powder
1 ½ tbsp pepper powder
Salt as required
Oil as required

Preparation
Clean the sardines and score them
Marinate the sardines with chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt
Heat oil in pan and fry the marinated sardines
Now, break apart the fried sardines into a crumble
Keep the sardines aside
Heat some more oil if required
Add ginger, green chillies, onion and curry leaves
Sauté until the raw smell is gone
Now add half table spoon chilli powder
Sauté well
Add the grated coconut and mix everything for a minute
Into it add the fried sardines
Stir and roast nicely
Enjoy the matrhi peera with rice or chapathi.
