Chilli fish for a tasty lunch

Spicy and tangy chilli fish tastes great with chapathi, roti or with fragrant basmati rice. Check out the pretty simple recipe of chilli fish.

Ingredients

For the marinade
300 gms fish (deboned)
½ tsp pepper powder
Salt as required
1 egg
2 tbsp corn flour
1 tsp soy sauce
Vegetable oil to fry
For the sauce
3 -4 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp ginger (chopped)
1 tsp garlic (chopped)
3 green chillies
2 medium sized onions (squared)
1 bell pepper (squared)
Salt as required
2 tbsp red chili sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp corn flour plus ¾ cup water
Chopped spring onion

Preparation
Marinate the fish pieces with pepper powder, salt, egg, corn flour and soy sauce
Keep it aside for at least 15 minutes
Heat oil in a pan
Add the marinated fish pieces
Fry for 2 -3 minutes
Set them aside to be used later
Meanwhile, heat oil in another pan
Add ginger, garlic and green chillies
Lightly sauté them
Now add the onions and bell pepper
Add salt as required
Sauté for a minute
Add the red chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and soy sauce
Mix well
Now add the corn slurry (corn flour mixed with water)
Mix well until the gravy gets thicker
Into it add the fried fish pieces
Mix gently without breaking the fishes apart
Garnish with chopped spring onion
Delicious chilli fish is ready!
