Hyderabad: Manorama Online has won WAN-IFRA South Asia’s bronze prize for the best mobile news app. The prize was presented during the third South Asia Digital Media Award function held as part of the 26th annual event of WAN-IFRA in the city.

The award was received by Manorama Online Associate Producer Chippi Sarah Kuriakose from WAN-IFRA deputy CEO Manfred Werfel.

Manorama Online is winning the award for the second successive year.

The first prize in the category was won by Scroll.in and the second prize by BBC Hindi.

Manorama Online has so far won over 20 honours, including the WAN-IFRA international award for the best news website in 2016, WAN-IFRA digital media golden prize for the best news website in South Asia (2016) and five international awards for its mobile app (in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2018).

The bronze prize for the best news website in South Asia instituted by WAN-INFRA was won by Onmanorama, the English version of Manorama Online, in 2016.

Manorama Online is also the most popular Malayalam news app on Google Play Store. It is also available in Apple Watch and Amazon Echo. Manorama enables download of 30 apps, including India’s first regional news app. (mobile.manoramaonline.com)
