The unseeded Praneeth recorded a comfortable 21-17, 21-13 win over the Japanese shuttler Kento Nishimoto in just 42 minutes.
H S Prannoy, who had knocked out Kidambi Srikanth in the opening round, lost to Rasmus Gemke of Denmark 9-21, 15-21.
HS Prannoy defeated compatriot Kidambi Srikanth, while Sameer Verma went down to Anders Antonsen.
