India is increasing efforts to secure crude oil and gas from all sources due to concerns about a global energy crisis stemming from the Middle East conflict.
After a cabinet meeting, Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur said natural gas will now be indexed to the price of imported crude oil.
How will this Rs 7,200-crore project directly benefit the common people? The project promises 24-hour access to a green fuel at affordable rates to both domestic and industrial consumers.
The total cost of the project was about Rs 3,000 crore and its construction created over 12 lakh man-days of employment.
