Hello
Health authorities warned people, who were in contact with the horse and its owner, to take necessary medical precautions as per the doctor's suggestion.
The doctor was bitten while walking towards the hospital after parking the vehicle. Besides the doctor, posted with the Orthopaedic department, the victims include a female employee of the ENT department, two temporary staff, and two bystanders.
The District Administration hopes that the programme can be started on 30th September.
The vaccines were administered in Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur districts.
Public anger against growing stray dog menace in Kerala results in another brutal killing.
Health Minister Veena George said the state has sought a directive to re-examine the vaccines certified by the Central Drugs Laboratory.
She said if people died even after taking the vaccines, it was only because they were bitten in areas like the face, hands, ears, neck and lips from where the virus could quickly reach the brain.
The procurement of the vaccine and its effectiveness triggered major concerns and became a controversy in Kerala after the death of a 19-year-old college student in Palakkad.
It is suspected that the dog has also bitten other stray dogs in the area. This has got the residents of the region anxious.
The first batch of the procured vaccine not only lacked the final test reports from the Central Drug Lab (CDL) but have also not completed the preliminary trial to be conducted by its manufacturers.
