The tiger was trapped in a cage set up in the Thupra region around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
Though the Rapid Response Team (RRT) cornered the tiger, it managed to escape.
Despite night vigils conducted by various forest department teams, including the Rapid Response Team (RRT), the elusive tiger managed to strike again.
The mission, led by noted veterinarian Dr Arun Zachariya, was temporarily cancelled on Sunday due to fading light.
The forest department has set up a cage in a coffee plantation near Joseph’s house to trap the tiger.
A massive cage trap, 32 feet long and 10 feet high, was brought from Mysuru, Karnataka, to capture the animals.
The tiger has been identified as WWL 106, enlisted by the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.
The animal had been spreading terror in the Edakkad-Manthadam area near Kenichira and had killed four cows before falling into the trap.
The 10-year-old tiger is incapacitated for wild in its present condition.
