When a civil society recognizes that women are victimized in their workplaces, we cannot stand by while some elements of society use that same information to stone and demean female professionals, the statement read.

An HC order on July 24 had stayed the release of the report on the working condition of women in Malayalam cinema.
In a recent interview with a national daily, the actor had said more people would have come forward to support the survivor in the actress assault case had it not been for the WCC.
The actor says the complainant should react and go to a police station or the Women’s commission, instead of other organisations.
WCC members have asked producers association to parallelly evaluate why such prompt disciplinary action is only accorded to this incident alone.
