Hello
Disha, a 22-year-old vegan and member of Swedish activist Greta Thunberg's Fridays for Future movement, was charged in February over an online document about months-long protests by Indian farmers.
Led by farmers from India's northern Punjab state, the movement has spread to the country's northern and western farm belts and is now nearing its 100-day mark.
The 22-year-old climate activist faces charges of conspiracy and sedition in the 'Toolkit' conspiracy case related to the farmers' agitation and was arrested from Bengaluru on February 13.
On Feb 3, when Greta Thunberg tweeted solidarity with the farmers protesting India's controversial farm laws, little did she know that three activists in India would find themselves in deep waters because of it.
She was arrested by a Cyber Cell team of the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on the charges of sedition.
Another suspect in the case, Shantanu Muluk, an engineer based in Maharashtra's Beed district, was also granted transit anticipatory bail for 10 days by the HC's Aurangabad bench.
Graduating from Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru, she has been regularly writing columns and articles in leading news portals.
The Delhi Police claimed that Disha Ravi, who was arrested by a Cyber Cell team of the force on Saturday, was an editor of the toolkit Google doc and key conspirator in the document's formulation and dissemination.
Delhi Police's remarks come in the backdrop of global celebrities such as singer Rihanna and Thunberg supporting the farmers' protests against the three farm laws.
The strong reaction by the MEA came after Rihanna, Greta Thunberg, Amanda Cerni, Kamala Harris' niece Meena Harris and several other prominent people took to Twitter to lent their voices to the months-long farmer protests against three newly enacted farm laws.
