Cuckoo Parameswaran, vice-chairperson of the Kerala Chalachitra Academy, has denied allegations by actor Ahaana Krishna that women were deliberately seated behind men at the Kerala State Film Awards ceremony, asserting that specific seating arrangements were made for awardees and ministers. Parameswaran highlighted that Best Actress winner Shamla Hamza was in the front row and that veteran actor Sarada, despite initial front-row placement, chose to wait in the green room due to her health. She further stated that the reel shared by Krishna was biased and that vacant front-row seats were filled as people moved to the stage, while a source close to the Academy indicated a tradition of prioritizing Best Actor awardees and noted a recent shift to include Special Mention awardees in the front row, suggesting a potential oversight in seating Jyothirmayi.
