Malaikottai Vaaliban, a Malayalam film starring Mohanlal, is set to release in Japan on January 17.

Mohanlal had pulled off the role of Malaikottai Vaaliban, an undefeated warrior in the epic drama movie, well, but the movie failed to impress the audience and received mixed responses.
Lijo's latest move deleting the salary slip has fueled speculations that the rift has ended between the two.
Joju in his recent interview had said the makers had misled him, claiming that the scene in which he utters profane words and expletives, would not be released but only sent for the awards.
Joju admitted he was not paid for the work and added that he was hurt because the makers went back on their agreement regarding the dialogues in the movie.
The filmmakers had initially considered Jiiva for the antagonist’s role, Chamathakan, in 'Malaikottai Vaaliban'.
Mohanlal’s dual role as director and actor has been a significant highlight, drawing attention to the ambitious scope of the project.
He clarified that while he agrees with the concept of an independent filmmakers' group, any information circulating under his name is not accurate.
The filmmakers also planned to prioritise equality, cooperation, and social justice, ensuring the rights of all workers, including producers and technicians, in the new union.
