Anticipation for Geetu Mohandas's pan-India action thriller 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups' is heightened by a viral video of lead actor Yash sporting a nearly clean-shaven look, a significant departure from his previous rugged appearance in the 'KGF' series. Yash will portray the character 'Ticket', the son of a gangster named Raya, marking a new visual identity for the star. The film, scheduled for a worldwide release on March 19, 2026, also features Nayanthara and Kiara Advani and has secured notable distribution deals, including record Kerala rights acquired by E4 Entertainment, a reunion with Anil Thadani's AA Films in the North, and Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) in the Telugu states, with a potential first single release anticipated on February 28.
The much-anticipated Indian film "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups," slated for a March 19, 2026 release, has unveiled its official teaser, showcasing a vast and contrasting cinematic world that blends vibrant aesthetics with brutal undertones, spanning diverse settings from circuses to East Asian-inspired locales and various time periods. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, who also co-wrote the script with Rocking Star Yash, the film emphasizes a deep narrative focus and powerful performances, with Yash undergoing a significant reinvention as seen in his varied physical transformations. Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash, "Toxic" is being filmed in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned for multiple Indian languages, aiming for a global release.
The makers have earlier revealed the film’s ensemble of leading women, which includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
In her note, Geetu spoke about the rare and organic connection between Nayanthara and the character she inhabits, suggesting that ‘Toxic’ will introduce audiences to a side of the actor they have not witnessed before.
Set against the backdrop of Goa, the movie revolves around the dark world of a drug cartel, exploring themes of power, love, and betrayal.
The VFX work has been handled by Prime Focus and DNEG, the latter having won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for ‘Dune’.
