4 Kerala institutes make it to national rank list on innovation achievements

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Education has announced the best institutes in the country for innovation. Four institutes from Kerala have made it to the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), 2021, which is topped by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras.

The National Institute of Technology, Calicut, secured 9th spot in the annual rankings to recognise achievements in research and innovation. It is listed in the technical category.

No other institute based in Kerala is in the top 10 which includes seven IITs. IIT, Bombay and IIT, Delhi are at number 2 and 3 in this list for technical central universities.

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode; Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam; and SN College, Kollam, have made it to the rank list at various spots in various categories of the ranking.

In the non–technical category, Kozhikode IIM has been placed second. IGNOU earned the first position in this category.

In the general (non–technical) category, Kollam SN College bagged the second spot followed by Mahatma Gandhi University in the third place. The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India in Gujarat won the first spot in this ranking.
