Manju Warrier should clear her stand on WCC: Deedi

Scriptwriter Deedi Damodaran, daughter of noted screenplay writer T Damodaran, said that she was not aware about actress Manju Warrier's resignation from Women's Collective in Cinema (WCC). She was responding to Manorama Online over the reports of Manju's resignation.
"I don't know anything about Manju Warrier's resignation. It is Manju who should say it. To my knowledge, she hasn't resigned," Deedi said.
Apart from the actress who survived the sexual assault, actors Rima Kallingal, Ramya Nambeesan and Geetu Mohandas had resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) protesting induction of actor Dileep, accused in actress attack case, back into the organisation.
Amid reports that Manju was not supportive of the stand taken by the WCC, rumours of Manju's resignation from the WCC had started doing the rounds.
Manju is currently in the US as part of a stage show.
Women in India Collective (WCC) is an an organisation, which came into being in late 2017 with an aim to address issues faced by women working in Malayalam film industry. The group intends to brings about gender equality, pay parity and better workplace standards to help women joining Malayalam cinema work with dignity.
