A bakery in Finland has come up with a brilliant idea to make some cash during the lockdown days. The Ronttosrouva bakery in the capital city of Helsinki has been rolling out delicious cakes that look like a roll of toilet paper.

Last month, the workers at the bakery had stared at a dramatic decline in the orders due to the COVID-19 situation. No one was buying any baked goodies. However, their customers were surprised seeing cakes made in the shape of something that is in great demand.

News reports and videos of people clashing over toilet paper in supermarkets had come out right before lockdowns. The Helsinki bakery thought of introducing the toilet paper cakes as an experiment and it totally paid off. They have used oats, passion fruit mousse and white chocolate fondant to create the toilet paper cakes with originality.

Cake artist Ulyana Timofina says that they quickly realized the trend when the first five cakes were sold out in just under an hour. Soon, the pictures of the toilet paper cake became viral on the social media too.

Now, the bakery receives hundreds of orders every day. The bakery's owner Sana Lampinen had to hire two more workers in addition to 9, to help meet the overwhelming demand for these cakes. She says she is thrilled that the toilet paper cakes have brought enough income to pay her staff in the coming months as well.
