Saji, a native of Thiruthyadu in Kozhikode, proudly shows around his spacious house built on a 4.3 cents plot which doesn’t have a specific structure. The family wanted a house which perfectly suited the plot and with all the modern facilities. The unique look of the house, which is built on a moderate budget, amazingly complements the structure of the plot. The elevation projects the flat and curved styles with elan. The exteriors and interiors adorn shades of elegant white and grey. Claddings in red bricks add the perfect contrast to this color combination. There are roads on both sides of the house. The external view of the house is different from both these sides.
There is a sit-out, living space, dining area, 4 bedrooms, kitchen and balcony in this house which has an area of 1796 sq ft. The spaces in the interiors are interconnected which make them look vast and spacious. Besides, this ensures excellent ventilation as well.
Granite is paved on the floor in the main areas and vitrified tiles are used in the rest of the house. Ceiling works are done only in the living and dining areas. MS steel, wood and mahogany are used in the stairway and balcony. The dining table which can accommodate 4 persons doesn’t take up much space.
Three bedrooms are bath attached. The kitchen is designed in the open style. There is an adjacent work-area and storeroom as well. The construction of the house, including the structure and furnishing, was completed on a moderate budget of Rs 29 lakhs. Saji says that his guests often get surprised realizing that his spacious house is built on such a small plot.

» Light points were directly installed at most places to limit the use of false ceiling.
» The walls are painted with lighter shades.
» Reasonably priced wood are used for furnishing.
» The kitchen cupboards are done in Ferro cement and aluminum fabrication.
» The granites were directly purchased from the dealer on reasonable price.
