So here comes vertical garden, which is also called a green wall as a trendy solution on in recent years. Earlier, vertical gardens were spotted only on the walls of high end hotels, offices and luxury houses. However, now, vertical gardens are spreading greenery onto the walls of ordinary houses as well.

A vertical garden is set on specially installed frames or other arrangements on the wall. Not just the outer walls, the vertical gardens are used to decorate the interiors as well. The garden is grown in modules comprising of various plastic pots. The frame and the pots wouldn’t be visible in most of the cases unless it is set up as a designer feature. Not all plants could be grown in a vertical garden. Plants which grow into huge bushes do not suit a vertical garden. Instead, small plants with lots of foliage and that are easy to grow in our climate could be opted. Plants which gain weight as it grows should be avoided as it many crack the walls. A designer garden could be set up by aesthetically arranging various plants with colorful leaves or flowers. In houses, vertical gardens up to 7 – 8 feet high are usually arranged.
Cryptanthus and syngonium plants are mostly used in a vertical garden. Syngonium plants are available in lots of colors which are incredibly attractive. Chlorophytum or ribbon plants, asparagus, different types of ferns, mini anthuriums and philodendrone are also grown on a green wall. Beautiful aglaonema could be chosen to decorate the interiors. Drip line automated facilities could be installed in the frames to water the plants.
