During the recently concluded Rio Olympics, a photo of a judoka breastfeeding a child was doing the rounds on social media. And now, even after the Olympics fever has come down, the photograph is going viral once again. However, the photo is actually not a picture clicked from the Rio Olympics, and is apparently from the California State Games.
The judoka in question, Jennifer Orey - a mother of two, breastfed her toddler in July 2016 during the California State Games and the pictures are now being circulated and shared as the best picture of Rio 2016.
California State Games is an annual Olympic-style competition for California's amateur athletes of all ages and abilities. Orey appeared for this year's edition with her 17-month-old boy Alexander to participate in the Judo event.
At a time when people are debating on whether women should be allowed to breastfeed in public, Orey is a perfect example who showed the world the importance of breastfeeding.
A series of pictures were captured by the Normalize Breastfeeding website, showing Orey nursing her baby after her event. One of those pictures was widely shared on Facebook and other social media platforms.
