A.N. Shamseer MLA (file photo)Kannur: The Kannur Ist class magistrate court Thursday sentenced A.N. Shamseer MLA to three months' imprisonment in a case over issuing threats to the police during a public speech.
According to the case, legislator from Thalassery had threatened the police during a speech he made in a stir organized by the CPM before Kannur collectorate in 2012.
The case was registered under Section C of the Kerala Police Act 117 on the basis a complaint filed by Kannur Town SI Sanalkumar. Shamseer is likely to move the high court against the court verdict.
