The sale and movement of birds (both within and outside) in all districts affected by bird flu should be banned until March 2025, recommended the panel.
If someone at home is sick and if they have symptoms of flu, keep a distance from them to avoid spreading the virus.
In India, bird flu or avian influenza is spread mainly by migratory birds coming into the country during the winter months between September and March. The disease is zoonotic.
