Set in 1950s Madras, 'Kaantha' follows the behind-the-scenes drama of a fictional film production. The story begins with the announcement of a movie titled 'Saantha', touted as Tamil cinema’s first horror film, being made by Modern Studios.
The two had shared screen space in the 2020 Malayalam film 'Varane Avashyamund', a gentle, feel-good drama where Dulquer played Bibeesh, a soft-spoken young man with a guarded past, and Kalyani played Nikki, a woman navigating family expectations and arranged marriage.
