Kochi: On the International Women’s Day, with a view to address the safety concerns of women and to safeguard them by maintaining the privacy of their mobile number, Vodafone India has introduced ‘private recharge’, a unique feature empowering customers, specially women.
The feature, which is also known as 'Sakhi recharge' helps them recharge privately, as the current recharge process involves revealing their mobile number.
Vodafone ‘private recharge’ allows customers to make a recharge privately without sharing their mobile number.
To use the Vodafone ‘private recharge’ feature, customers need to send a toll free SMS ‘PRIVATE’ to 12604. They will receive a unique number in response that can be used for subsequent recharges till midnight of the same day.
This unique feature from Vodafone was launched Wednesday by Kochi mayor Soumini Jain and Abhijit Kishore, business head-Kerala circle, Vodafone India.
Inviting the customers of Kerala to experience the benefits of a first-of-its kind initiative in the state, Abhijit said, “We are very proud to introduce Vodafone ‘private recharge'. This helps subscribers keep their phone numbers private and protected from getting misused, which is a key concern for people now-a-days. This feature, a free of cost service, will make our customers feel more secure and empowered.”
