Locomotor disabilities rehabilitation training: Apply before 12 June

The entrance exam for admission to four institutes that trains professionals in the rehabilitation of people with locomotor disabilities would be held on 9 July. There are twenty seven exam centers across the country including in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

The candidates are required to answer 100 multiple choice questions in under 120 minutes. The plus two level questions would be from Maths, Physics and Chemistry/Biology. Each section will carry thirty marks. Meanwhile, ten marks have been allotted for General Knowledge and General Ability. There is no negative marks for wrong answers.

The online applications could be submitted until 12 June in the website http://niohkol.nic.in. There is an application fee of Rs 1000. Meanwhile, candidates from the scheduled categories and persons with disabilities need to pay Rs 800.

Eligibility

Kolkata
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT): The applicants should have passed plus with at least 50% marks in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English. It is 40% and 45% respectively for scheduled categories and persons with disabilities.

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT): The eligibility is same as BPT.

Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthodix (BPO): The candidates should have 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in plus two. Applicants who belong to scheduled categories and persons with disabilities require 40% and 45% respectively. Those who have studied Maths instead of Biology too can apply.

Cuttack
BPT, BOT: The candidates should have passed plus two with 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Scheduled categories/ persons with disabilities need 40%/45% respectively. BOP: 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English for plus two. Candidates belonging to scheduled categories need 40% marks and persons with disabilities require 45% marks. Maths is allowed instead of Biology.

Chennai
BPT, BOT: The eligibility is 50% marks for Biology, Physics and Chemistry in plus two. Scheduled /backward categories need 40% marks and persons with disabilities require 45% marks in order to apply.

BPO: The candidates should score at least 50% marks for Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in class twelve. Scheduled categories/ persons with disabilities require 40%/45% marks respectively. Those who had studied Maths instead of Biology too can apply.

New Delhi
BPT, BOT: The eligibility for these courses is 50% marks for Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English in plus two. Scheduled/ backward categories need 40% marks while persons with disabilities require 45% marks.

BOP: The eligibility is the same as above. However, the candidates could opt for Maths instead of Biology.

The applicants are required to follow the age-related criteria. The candidates who are admitted to these four-year-long courses need to do a six-month-long internship too. The annual fee at the Kolkata center is Rs 61,000 while it is Rs 48,000 at Cuttack. Meanwhile, the annual fee in Chennai is Rs 44,000 and Rs 51,520 in New Delhi. The hostel fee has to be paid additionally.
