Rs 72 crore project for state-of-the-art new ladies' hostel at Kozhikode NIT

Kozhikode: The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a state-of-the-art ladies’ hostel on the NITC campus. The new ladies’ hostel is designed to accommodate 760 students in dual occupancy rooms.

The estimated cost for the construction work is Rs 71.85 crore. NITC secured a loan of Rs 71.85 crore from the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) for this construction project with the support of the Ministry of Education.

The upcoming ladies' hostel stands as a testament to NIT Calicut's dedication to fostering a conducive and enriching campus environment, said Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut. We are committed to ensuring that students and scholars receive unparalleled support in their academic pursuits, he added.

Superintending Engineer of NITCS Sreenesh and Executive Engineer of CPWD P K Jose signed the MoU in the presence of Prof Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC; Prof Priya Chandran, Dean (Planning & Development); Dr Bimal P and Dr Anantha Singh T S, Associate Deans (Planning & Development); M Viswanath, Executive Engineer, and Vinod R, Assistant Engineer from CPWD.
