Asha Sharath, who impressed everyone with her varied roles as an IPS officer in Drisyam to a homemaker in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, is set to make her Telugu debut. The dancer turned actress talks to Onmanorama about her dreams and why it is important to chase your dreams.

''While I was in college, actor Jayaram's sister and I were classmates. We knew each other since then and he suggested me for small roles in films like Kamladhalam, Kabuliwala, Bhoothakannadi. But I could never take it up as I was caught up with my own personal matters. And after all these years, I did a couple of Malayalam and Tamil movies and recently just signed a Telugu project titled Bhagmati. Incidentally, Jayaramettan is also making his Telugu debut in the same film. Although I wanted to act with him in those small roles which he had long back offered, I couldn't make it. Yet I didn't stop dreaming. Now, after all these years, the dreams have come true.

''We all have dreams in our life and when it doesn’t happen we stop thinking about such things and end up loosing hope. That's what happens to most of us. People who have succeeded in their lives have had dreams. Being a big dreamer doesn’t mean that you walk around with your head in the clouds. It means that you’re seeking a purpose for your life and it means that you’re becoming fulfilled in the process.

''About ten years back, when I started my own cultural institution, 'Kairali', I had dreams to make it into a centre of arts. And now, in September, we are planning to launch acting and direction training too apart from the ongoing dance and music classes. I am also glad that I have got many supporting hands in making my dreams come true. Just dream big and it will work out some day for you”.
