Keralite filmmaker Dr Biju's Kaadu Pookkunna Neram will compete with other international films at the prestigious British Academy Film and Television awards ( BAFTA).
Kaadu Pookkunna Neram will compete in several categories: best film, best director( Dr Biju), original screenplay ( Dr Biju), cinematography (M.J. Radhakrishnan), sound (Jayadevan Chakkadath, Pramod Thomas), actor (Indrajith), actress( Rima Kallingal) and best foreign language movie.
As many as 39 films including Deepan (France), Mastang (Turkey), Son of Soul (Hungary) are competing for the best foreign film award. Kaadu Pookkunna Neram and Tamil film Visarana are the films from India.
The nominations will be announced on January 10th.
Kaadu Pookunna Neram has already been selected for seven international film festivals.
The movie will also be screened under the competition category for IFFK 2016 that will begin in Thiruvananthapuram on December 9th.
