Vegetables look and taste good when cooked fresh. The big question is how to keep them fresh and crisp. How to keep brinjal from turning dark? How can carrots be preserved for long?
Here’s a bit of help to keep your vegetables from spoiling and turning dull.
- Add a spoon of milk into a bowl of water and chop in brinjal. It will not turn dark.
- To extract more juice, drop lime in a bowl of hot water for 20 minutes before use.
- The other half of a lime if not used, be packed in a polythene pack and left in the fridge.
- Cashew nuts soaked in milk will not sink into cake and biscuit batter.
- Chop off carrot tips, wrap them in polythene packs and preserve them in the veg tray of the fridge.
