You may have tasted koftas of different kinds but kofta korma is a spicy and flavoursome combo dish which is an amazing accompaniment for roti, flat bread, or rice.

Ingredients
½ kg beef
Ghee and oil as required
2 onions (chopped)
1 tsp turmeric powder
5 cloves
5 cardamoms
4 inches of cinnamon
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 slice bread
1 egg
¼ cup yogurt
6 -8 green chillies (split)
½ cup coconut milk
¼ cup grated coconut
12 cashew nuts
3 tomatoes

Preparation
Cook the beef and mince it
Save some of the beef stock for later
Heat ghee and oil in a pan
Add chopped onions and turmeric powder
Sauté well
When the onion turns golden brown, add cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon stick
Add ginger €“ garlic paste, chilli powder and coriander powder
Add 2 spoons full of this masala, a slice of bread, egg and salt as required into the minced beef
Mix well and make small balls of kofta
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry this kofta balls
In the rest of the masala, add the beef stock
Mix well
Add yogurt, green chillies and salt as required
When this mixture boils, add the coconut milk
Grind the grated coconut and cashews into a fine paste
Add this coconut-cashew paste into the gravy
Add sliced tomatoes into it and mix well
Add the kofta balls into the gravy
Add a squeeze of lemon if required
