Saree

Stones from the exquisite antique necklaces in grandma’s treasure chest and jewellery throbbing with the antiquity of Mughal patterns. What if all the pearls appeared on a net saree?

The latest trend of embellished net sarees prove that such a migration is possible while retaining the effect of stones like diamond, pearl, coral, turquoise and ruby that are embedded on the jewellery. From the popular mango designs as well as Polka dot designs to Sardosi and Meenakari designs can be captured in embellished net sarees. Kundan, Ari, Sardosi and Jari works are done on hand work designs to create the effect in saris. Embellished effect in saris can also be brought about by embroidering especially made-to-order designs like handwork and fitting with Karigari handwork and stone.

For embellishing with pearl and stone varieties, ensure the presence of embroidery also. It is mandatory for the finish anyway. Pearl embellishment comes mostly in bridal wear. Ari work often combined with pearls. Heavy work is good for embedding stones. The work on the Sardosi sarees is handmade where tube crystals are embedded. Machine work embroidery suits other types of stone works.
