Facial home

A good facial improves your complexion, increases your blood circulation and rejuvenates your skin. Do not worry! Going to a salon and taking a hit on your pocket is not at all the trick. Try this 5-step simple facial at your own home and feel the magic.

» Cleansing

Cleansing

What it does: Use a good facial cleanser that suits your skin type to get rid of the dirt on your skin.

Natural Cleansers: Milk is a great natural cleanser. You can also try rose water for cleaning your face.

How to: Dip a soft cotton ball in the cleanser and gently wipe your face clean.

Tip: Use an oil-free cleanser for oily skin types and use a cream based one for dry skin.

» Exfoliate

Exfoliation

What it does: Exfoliation helps to get rid of dead cells from your face.

Natural Exfoliators: mix of sugar and oil, lemon juice, honey or yogurt are good exfoliators you could source from your kitchen

How to: Massage your face with a good quality scrub to remove dead cells, and close large pores on your face. It greatly reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Tip: Regular exfoliation helps you stay young and glowing

» Steaming

Steaming

What it does: Steam your face to open up the pores in your skin. This cleanses your skin and helps get rid of toxins.

How to: Bring water to boil in a vessel. After removing it from the heat, cover your head with a towel and let the steam clean your face. Remember not to go too close the vessel, else you might get scald.

Tip: You can add fragrant oils to the water if you like a stimulating cleanse. Use a black/white head removing tool to get rid of heads if you have them.

» Facial mask

Face pack

Tip: Choose a facial mask according to your skin type.

Natural facial masks: For people having oily skin, try a face pack with fullers earth or multani mitti. For dry skin use a creamy face mask. Those with dry skin can try a mixture of cucumber and aloe vera or use a pack made from bananas, yogurt and honey instead.

How to: Apply the face pack for about 15 minutes, and wash it off with plenty of water.

» Moisturizing

Moisturizing

What it does: Moisturize your skin to help it stay hydrated. Use a good quality moisturizer that suits your skin type.

Tip: Also remember to use a sunscreen whenever you step out in the sun.
