Mithun and Sreevidhya’s brand new flat at Kalamassery in Kochi, Kerala, is a simple abode with all the modern amenities that is designed and furnished on a minimal budget. The couple is both bank employees. They hail from different hometowns and work at different places too. They had purchased the flat to settle together in Kochi in the future. The couple had already invested quite a huge amount to purchase the flat. So, they weren’t ready to spend an exorbitant amount to furnish it. Noted architect Shinto was entrusted to design this flat on a moderate budget.
Apart from transforming the kitchen into open style, many changes haven’t been made in the structure of the flat. A semi-partition has been installed to separate the formal living area and the dining space without losing the vastness of the open hall. Plywood veneer is pasted on GI structure to build the stylish semi partition. The custom made furniture pieces amazingly complement the general theme of the flat.
GI tubes enhanced with colored sheets have been used to separate the dining and the wash areas.
The U shaped kitchen is furnished in multi wood with laminate finish. Meanwhile, the counter top has been paved with nano white. The pantry counter that opens to the dining area too is part of the kitchen.
The three bedrooms are designed in unique colour themes. Wardrobes made in plywood with veneer finish are arranged in the bedrooms for storage. Moreover, bookshelves and study tables too have been arranged in the kids’ bedroom.
The flat, designed in 1250 sqft, is a fabulous dwelling that is open, spacious and has abundant supply of natural light and air.
