Anshu, an expatriate, is thrilled to show around his brand-new house in his hometown in Kinalur, Kozhikode, Kerala. An admirer of the contemporary and Arab architectural styles, Anshu was keen to try a fusion design for his dream abode. He is elated that the architect has designed the perfect home just as he had imagined.
The structure stands in the centre of the 30 cents plot. So, there is enough space in the front yard for a splendid landscape. The driveway is paved with natural stones and grass. Interestingly, the majestic beauty of the house could be enjoyed, in all its grandeur, from the road.
Groves were added while the plastering works were done. The outer walls have been painted in light golden hue to grant a regal look. Meanwhile, the slope roof is paved with roofing tiles. The Arabic calligraphy design on the façade is quite prominent. Anshu says that this unique calligraphy design has intrigued many.
Sprawled in 4247 sqft, this palatial mansion has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with a work area, five bedrooms, upper living area and a balcony too.
From the porch, one could enter the spacious sit-out and the foyer. Interestingly, the fabulous view of the dining area could be grabbed from the sit-out. The formal living area, meanwhile, has been arranged by ensuring enough privacy. This area would be detached from the rest of the house if the doors here are closed.
The regal elegance of marble flooring is the highlight of the interiors. Meanwhile, the custom-made furniture pieces add panache to the glamorously designed spaces.
The dining table set made by paving a Korean top in wooden frame, is quite unique. Besides this main dining area, there is a mini dining space close to the kitchen. The walls opposite the dining table are decorated with attractive wallpapers.
The staircase has hand railings that feature the classic combination of wood and glass. A study space has been arranged beneath the staircase to make the interiors space-efficient. Besides, lots of storage area, in eye-catching blue colour theme too is arranged here.
The billiards table in the upper living area grants a chic style to this area. The entrance to the balcony too is here. Anshu says that the balcony is his favourite spot to enjoy the mesmerizing charm of the aesthetically designed landscape.
The island kitchen is modern and boasts of all the luxurious facilities. A quaint breakfast counter has been set below the hood and hob. The cabinets, meanwhile, are done in plywood with a laminate finish. Nano white has been paved on the counter-top, adding a clean look to the kitchen area.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor while three are on the upper floor. All the bedrooms are bath attached and have wardrobes too.
The construction of this beautiful house had begun during the pandemic days. Even though the work got stalled during the lockdown period, the family are happy that they have now moved into their dream mansion.
