The mercury is rising. We crib about the summer heat, that is a given. But the summer brings us things that make us extremely happy. A list.

Mangoes

Mango

April brings with it the juicy and luscious mangoes. A summer vacation is incomplete if you do not gorge on mangoes by the dozen. Mangoes are stuff that memories are made off too. A trip to your ancestral home where different varieties of mangoes grew, the adventures you and your relatives had while you were out in the mango grove plucking the fruit and the different curries your grandma made with mango as the main ingredient would still be part of the lore you bore your kids with these days. And hey, you do not really need a memory to relish this king of fruit. Just buy off a dozen from the familiar grocery shop, dice it up, make a juice or if you are lazy, just buy mango souffles or ice creams off the shelves.

Vacations

Cycling

The exams are over. It is good bye to books at least for a couple of weeks. So, it is time to get packing and hit the road. Travel to some beaches or some hill stations. Check out the hot and happening destinations in and around Kerala

Early morning walks

Wake up early before the sun comes out. Take a walk near a park, soak in some vitamins and hit back home before the sun turns warm.

Ice creams

Ice cream

Summer is perhaps the best reason to demand ice creams. They come in a variety of flavours. Head out to the nearest ice cream shop or if you are interested in cooking, look up some interesting recipes and do it yourself at home! Interested in cooking? Check out more recipes here

Summer rains

Summer Rains

This is our favourite bit. When everything around is hot and sultry, the skies darken up. Out of nowhere, the lightning strikes, the thunder howls and we lounge inside and the rains pour. It cools down everything. It is time for chai, samosa and family.
