Kochi: Centenarian E P Parameswaran is fit as a fiddle and many from the younger generation would pale in comparison. At the age of 102, Parameswaran is gearing up with great enthusiasm to participate in the 8-km family run, along with his grandson Sreejith, in the Spice Coast Marathon, 2018.

The centenarian, who worked with the Ernakulam Shiva temple for close to 80 years, trains for an hour daily for the upcoming marathon, which is organised by IDBI Federal Life Insurance and Soles of Kochi. Parameswaran, who also took part in last year’s marathon, walks for four hours daily to keep himself fit.

The event, to be held on November 12, includes three categories – full marathon (42.1 km), half marathon (21 km), family run (8 km) and corporate relay (21 km). For registration: spicecoastmarathon.com.
