Kochi: Veteran south Indian actor Kalpana who passed away on Monday was laid to rest in Tripunithura here on Tuesday.
The funeral was held at the Tripunithura Municipal Crematorium at 5.30 pm with full state honours.
People from all walks of life, including Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, K. Babu MLA, actors Prithviraj, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Dulquer Salmaan and Kunchacko Boban paid last respects to the actor.
The body was kept at the Layam Kootambalam Hall, Tripunithura from around 2 pm for the public to pay homage. By 4 pm, the body was taken to the actor's house at Thekkumbagam.
The veteran actor, known for her versatile roles in South Indian films, was in Hyderabad for the shooting of a bilingual Telugu-Tamil film, when she succumbed to a cardiac arrest on Monday.
