Nileshwaram: Looks like CPM, the prominent party of ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, is not planning to tone down their endorsement for tit-for-tat policy when it comes to political violence.

Continuing party leaders' call for violence, CPM state committee member M.V. Jayarajan Tuesday said that if someone hit CPM workers, they will be hit back for sure.

Jayarajan's statement comes on a day the Kerala police chief ordered a probe into party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's controversial speech at Payyanur where he asked party cadres to not spare anyone who attack CPM workers.

Ironically, Jayarajan made the statement at a snehasangamam (meet of love) the party organized against communalism.

“CPM cannot ask its attackers, who come wielding a sword, to drink juice. If they hit us, we will hit them back for sure,” Jayarajan said.

The politician also said that ISIS and RSS compliment each other.

“Just like how all Muslims are not terrorists, not all Hindus are RSS activists. There is no need to target one's religion and beliefs,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Kerala police chief Loknath Behera deputed a special team to examine Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's Payyanur speech.

After going through the video, a case will be registered if found necessary, police sources said.

Backing Kodiyeri, CPM's Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan said Monday that those who come to party's strong areas with an aim to attack its cadres should not go back cheering.

Kodiyeri's speech was slammed by Congress and BJP and both parties demanded filing a case against the CPM's Kerala chief.
