Saji Thomas, a hearing-impaired and a Class 7 drop-out from Kerala, who built and flew an aircraft by himself, has finally got the recognition he deserves.
A German-based aviation services company has appointed him as an R and D technician with Rs 40,000 as salary per month. Saji has been appointed at Arrow Aviation Services company's office in Kolkata.
Saji, hailing from Thattakuzha near Thodupuzha, was recruited after he performed well in the interviews held last month.

"Saji joined the company on Monday," his friend and aide M.G. Basil, a system analyst at Kothamangalam MB College said.
The company will offer a quarters in Kolakata for Saji and his family.
The twin seater ultra-light aircraft, which he named Saji X Air-S, made its first successful flight at Ambasamudram in Tamil Nadu on April 10, 2014.
The aircraft has done several successful flights over the Manimuthar valley in Tamil Nadu.
The aircraft was designed and constructed at almost half the market price, using mostly recycled materials and parts of other vehicles. Inspired by his life, actor Prithviraj had announced to make a biopic on Saji.
