Kozhikode: The parents of Jishnu Pranoy, the B. Tech student who was found hanging in the hostel of Nehru College at Pampady near Thrissur, have demanded the immediate arrest of college chairman P. Krishnadas, one of the accused in the case.

“It's been 51 days that my son has gone and nobody has been arrested so far. Krishnadas should be arrested immediately so that justice is meted out to my son,” said Mahija, Jishnu's mother. She also requested chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan to interfere in the matter and act promptly.

“The chief minister should pay us a visit only after arresting those responsible for my son's death,” said Mahija.

All five accused, including Krishnadas, college principal Dr. N.K. Sakthivel, college invigilator C.P. Praveen, PRO Sanjith Viswanathan and faculty member Dipin have gone into hiding soon after the case was registered.

Jishnu's father Ashokan K.P. said that while the culprits in the actress attack case were arrested within days, the government has not shown the same urgency in Jishnu's case.

They alleged that there was a conspiracy behind Jishnu's death and that Krishnadas tried to scuttle the probe with his political contacts.

Jishnu was found hanging in the college hostel on January 6.
