Kochi: Outspoken Kerala High Court judge Kemal Pasha on Friday said that fireworks and parading of elephants are not part of any religion's beliefs.
"The fireworks tragedy in Paravur was an invited one. How can a chemical substance like potassium chlorate, which is allowed only for matchbox companies, reached the hands of fireworks makers?," the judge asked.
Parading of elephants in festivals like pooram can act as an invite to mishaps, Kemal Pasha said.
He was taking part in the valedictory function of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Marthoma Educational society in Kochi.
Rev. Dr Marthoma Metropolitan presided over the function.
