File photo of KPAC Lalitha Thiruvananthapuram: Cine actor and Leftist sympathizer KPAC Lalitha will be the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi chairperson, reports said on Saturday.
Writer Vaisakhan will be the chairman of Sahitya Akademi and noted film editor Beena Paul is likely to be Chalachitra Academy vice-chairperson. An official announcement in this regard is expected on Monday.
The CPM had first decided to field KPAC Lalitha from Wadakkanchery in the last state assembly elections. However, she withdrew from the fray following objections raised by party activists at the regional level.
Vaisakhan is a writer known for his simplicity in his literary works and novelty of subjects. 'Noolpaalam', 'Kadakkunnavar', 'Appeal Annyayabhagam', 'Athirukalillaathe', 'Akaalathil Vasantham', 'Nishaasalabham', 'Bommidipponodiyile Paalam' and 'Yamakam' are some of his famous works.
Beena Paul had functioned as state Chalachitra Academy deputy director (festivals) for 12 years and as artistic director of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). She had stepped down from both the posts in 2014 following differences with the then Chalachitra Academy secretary.
