Pinarayi celebrates his birthday with veteran politician KR Gouri. ScreengrabThiruvananthapuram: Kerala chief minister-designate Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday celebrated his birthday with the media by distributing sweets.
After ladoos were distributed, a smiling Pinarayi Vijayan, unlike his usual serious demeanour, wanted to know from the fourth estate if they knew why he had distributed the sweets.
"I have kept it as a secret. Today is my birthday," he said, taking everyone by surprise.
As per official records, the senior CPM leader said his birthday was on March 21, 1944. But his correct birth date was May 24, 1945.
He however said he was not going to change the official records.
Pinarayi Vijayan calls on K. R. Gouri
Pinarayi also later called on veteran politician KR Gouri at her residence in Alappuzha. He said he had come to invite the nonagenarian to the oath-taking ceremony of the LDF government on Wednesday in the state capital.
