Punalur: Sam Abraham, the Punalur native who was murdered in Australia, perhaps knew about the dangers awaiting him better than anyone else did. "Next time I would be coming here in a coffin," he had told some of his relatives when he came home last time. However, nobody took it seriously until what he said became true last October.
Now, with the Australian police proving that the youth was poisoned with cyanide by his wife Sofia and her lover Arun Kamalasanan, his relatives are unable to overcome the shock and grief.

He had given hints about the character of his wife to some of his relatives. He also told them that Arun had once attacked him inside his car. Arun is reportedly a Palakkad native.
When he visited home last time, Sam had told his father that he should be buried near the tomb of his grandfather.
A good singer, Sam was loved by everyone for his behavior when he worked first in Dubai and later in Melbourne.
Sam, who was working with the UAE Exchange in Melbourne, died last October and Sofia had then told his relatives that he died due to cardiac arrest.
The funeral was conducted in his home town. However, the Australian police, after a 10-month long probe, cracked the case and revealed the shocking fact that it was a planned murder.
Sam and Sofia has a four-year-old son. Sam and Sofia belonged to the same parish and theirs was love marriage. Sofia met Arun when she was a college student. Sam is the son of A.S. Abraham and Leelamma of Alakkunnil at Karavaloor near Punalur.
