Kozhikode: In a bid to revolutionize the educational system, Kerala minister C. Raveendranath said Tuesday that all classes from VII to XII in government and aided schools in the state would be made hi-tech within two years.

As many as 40,000 classes would be modernized as part of this project. These classes would have laptop, LCD projector, and Internet connection.

"Apart from these, there would also be a central computer lab in each school with Wi-Fi Internet service," the minister said, adding that the government would earmark Rs 600 crore to fund this project.

He was talking to reporters after taking part in a workshop on turning the educational institutions into knowledge centers.

The minister had said last month that the government has plans to revamp the education system in the state to boost quality of students passing out of the colleges.
