Kochi: Former lawyer of solar-scam accused Saritha Nair, Fenny Balakrishnan on Thursday said former minister and Kerala Congress (B) leader Ganesh Kumar MLA was behind the controversial letter purportedly written by Saritha raising serious allegations against chief minister Oommen Chandy and other ministers.
"Ganesh Kumar had asked me to stand by him but I refused," Fenny said.
“Ganesh Kumar had said that his aim was to dethrone the chief minister,” Fenny revealed. Earlier, UDF candidate and actor Jagadish had also alleged that Ganesh Kumar was behind the letter.
Earlier in the day, Fenny had stated that the letter was fake.
"The letter that surfaced of late has been doctored. The allegations against the chief minister are fake," Fenny Balakrishnan said.
A TV news channel had on Sunday aired the controversial letter.
In an interview to the TV channel, Saritha said that she wrote the letter in July 2013, while she was under the custody of Perumbavoor police in connection with the case.
The letter reportedly had names of minsters A.P. Anil Kumar, Adoor Prakash, Aryadan Mohammed; parliamentarians K.C. Venugopal, Jose K. Mani; Hibi Eden MLA; Basheer Ali Thangal, KPCC secretary N Subrahmanyan and ADGP K. Padmakumar, among others.
