In a shocking claim, Rajasthan education minister Vasudev Devnani said that cow is the only animal which inhales and exhales oxygen.
The minister made the startling claims at Hingonia Goshala during an event organized by Akshay Patra foundation recently.
The minister's claim goes against a 2006 UN Food and Agricultural Organisation report which said that livestock, including cow, releases 18% of the greenhouse gases. According to the report, livestock produces more greenhouse gases than all forms of transport considered together.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Devnani also said that cow dung produces vitamin B which helps in soaking radioactivity and that diseases like cough and cold can be healed if one goes near cow.
Recently, cow vigilantism has been high, leading to attacks on those transporting and consuming cow meat.
