Delhi native Shahrukh Saifi, the man suspected of starting a fire onboard a train in Kerala which led to the death of three, was apprehended on Wednesday.
A slip from the train led to the arrest of Shahrukh Saifi, the suspect in the Executive Express arson attack case.
He will be brought to Kerala soon, said the state police chief Anil Kant.
The government also promised to ensure free medical care to the nine people who were injured in the train arson.
The suspect Shahrukh Saifi is currently under the custody of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad.
The investigation team zeroed in on Shahrukh based on the documents obtained from a bag that was left abandoned on the railway track.
A notebook has found on the railway track post the fire incident in the Kozhikode train, in which the name of the supposed owner Shahrukh Saifi and his details were written.
The police have on Monday constituted an 18-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unravel the mystery.
The suspect is still absconding and the police say he travelled from Kannur to Mangalore and then to Delhi, after committing the crime.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also begun a preliminary investigation into the fire incident .
