Kochi: The Army wing of National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Sacred Heart College, which is designated (3(b)Coy), is all set to host the fourth session of its annual alumni meet. The event, which is named Smitam 2k19, hopes to reunite the cadets who have passed out from the Thevara-based college since 1962.

The alumni meet will be hosted on the college premises on April 27, Saturday, from 1.30 pm.

The Smitam 2K19 has the motto “Reconnect, Recollect, Remember, Reunite”.

This year the event becomes more special as the company will be bidding farewell to their Associate NCC Officer Maj. T. O. Alphons Ligori who served as a guiding light for the students through out their cadet life. Dr. Ligori is a faculty of History at the SH College and has rendered 21 years of meritorious academic service.

As part of this year’s meet, the alumni association is also planning to prepare a souvenir that will cherish the spirit of the cadets across generations, informed Thejus Jo Puthussery, secretary of Alumni association of 3(b)Coy.

The NCC Army Wing of Sacred Heart College, which has a strength of more than 100 cadets, is an integral part of the 21 (Kerala) Battalion NCC, Ernakulam. (The Ernakulam-based battalion was raised in 1958.) The cadets of 3(b)Coy has continuously represented the Kerala and Lakshadweep directorate in various national camps and have brought laurels to the college.
