Kerala plus-two exams clashing with JEE-Mains postponed: V Sivankutty

Kochi: The higher secondary public examinations that were scheduled on 18 and 20 April in Kerala has been postponed to 23 and 26 April, respectively, as it clashes with the date of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)–Main.

State Education Minister V Sivankutty clarified that the decision was taken to accommodate the interests of the students who have also registered for the national-level entrance test for admission to engineering courses.

The minister made the announcement while speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Vayana Kalari’ project organised jointly by Malayala Manorama and KV Thomas Vidyadhanam Trust.

He added that strict action would be taken against the unaided schools that were still continuing classes online and charging library and lab fee.

Sivankutty said that some schools weren’t even ready to resume in–person classes even after most of the COVID-19 curbs were lifted.

He warned that the government wouldn’t allow to turn education into a lucrative business. The minister stressed that the education sector should be managed with an attitude of service.
