Over 29 lakh students in India fail to clear class 10 board exams last year

New Delhi: More than 29 lakh students failed in Class 10 board exams in the country last year, according to the Union Ministry of Education.
A total of 1,89,90,809 students appeared for the examination in 2022. Of this, 1,60,34,671 passed the test while 29,56,138 failed.

The number of students who failed the examination conducted by the Kerala Board was 649 while those who failed under the Madhya Pradesh State School Board stood at a whopping 3,98,039, revealed the figures submitted by the ministry in Lok Sabha.

With a dropout ratio of 49.9 per cent, Odisha has the highest number of students who wind up education before completing the 10th standard while in Kerala, the dropout ratio was just 11.2 per cent.
