Adimali: A protest erupted at the Adimali Government High School during the school’s praveshanolsavam (admission festival), following allegations that the English medium division of the 9th grade is being discontinued. Parents, along with members of various student and youth organizations, staged a protest inside the school premises, expressing strong opposition to the move.

Protesters gathered in front of the headmistress’s office, alleging that an abrupt decision to cancel the division would disrupt the academic progress of the students. The protest was called off after the school authorities assured that the current situation would continue without immediate changes.

This morning, parents and youth wings from both the Left and Right political factions arrived at the school to oppose the reported cancellation of the ‘C’ division of 9th grade, which has been operating as an English medium section. Protesters claimed that any sudden decision to discontinue the division would severely affect the students’ education. Demanding the continuation of the ‘C’ division, protestors staged a sit-in protest inside the headmistress’s office. As the agitation intensified, police arrived at the scene and escorted the protesters out of the office. The demonstration ended after officials assured that the status quo would be maintained.

"Special Order to Appoint Teachers Will Be Taken," Says Headmistress. The school headmistress stated that steps will be taken to appoint teachers for the division through a special order to ensure its continuation.
"Won’t Allow the Division to Be Cancelled," Says Panchayat Chairman. C.D. Shaji, Chairman of the Education Standing Committee of the Adimali Grama Panchayat, said that the decision to cancel the division is unacceptable and affirmed that all necessary interventions would be made to continue the English medium division.
